Jere's Year in Peru.
![]()
On January 18, 1998 I went to the country of Peru to serve as a Student Missionary at the Universidad Peruano Union (The Seventh day Adventist University in Peru). My job was to teach English to the students at the local Language Institute. I found Peru to be a very fascinating country with a people and culture very different than my own. At times it was very hard to understand these people, but by trying I was rewarded in many ways. I also found that as I tried to understand them, I learned more about myself and my country. I hope that you enjoy what I have learned. There are some beautiful pictures in the links below, they are large, but I promise they are well worth the time. If you know that Peru is in South America, but want a better look, go to the maps page. If you are curious about life in Peru look no further.
One of the nice things about working in Peru is that I had to leave the
country every 3 months to renew my visa. On these trips, I had the opportunity
to see many spectacular places. In the links below are pictures from my
travels in South America (pages with a * have content).
Enjoy!
