A frequent nusence a the university was the thief that often stole a couple hundred feet of telephone wire, leaving us without communications for the weekend and often more.   This is the scene I was confronted with one day as I came back from town.    I was looking forward to sending some email, but it didn't happen that day.

A day at the laundry.   The tall skinny white guy is me.   We did most of our laundry here.    At first I thought it was horrible, but then I learned that I could look over my shoulder and see the natives of Peru washing their clothes in the sewery River Rimac.   I was then thankful for my clean water, even if it did trickle kinda slow sometimes.

Mike Creating earthquakes on top of one of the many earthquake senors in Peru.   While I was there I experience several earthquakes, one of which had me fearing for my life.
